Oh and I’m still here for reasons I don’t understand. But I wait as you count out the lines on my hands. And I can’t believe there’s still nothing more to this life Than black eyes and broken hearts Millions of people just waiting around with dead end jobs They’re just waiting to fall apart (Ooh ooh) the world is in pieces (Ooh ooh) what can I do (Ooh ooh) the world is in pieces So Ooh ooh Im waiting for you What can I say to give you some hope in a thought And how can we change if from outdated books we were taught And I turned around to see time standing near and watching The news on a t.v. screen And I saw a war that had nothing to do with what we Had told ourselves it all means (Ooh ooh) the world is in pieces (Ooh ooh) what can I do (Ooh ooh) the world is in pieces So Ooh ooh Im waiting for you (Ooh ooh) the world is in pieces (Ooh ooh) what can I do (Ooh ooh) the world is in pieces So Ooh ooh Im waiting for you (ooh ooh) and the drunk choir sings….

You who would make a fool of mine With callous voice to unwind Lest not be judged upon the vine Fruit that spoils in the gleam of time But oh I know on your golden throes The world see how it weeps for you Saw your eyes turn a crimson wake Fire splashed too in their stead But all your thoughts turn to a day You recall you recoil to play the fool But oh I know on your golden throes The world see how it weeps for you Oh I know on your golden throes The world see how it weeps for you Bless your heart you witless one A calm could surely serve you well If the nightmare should turn to true May the whole wide world weep for you And oh I know on your golden throes The world see how it weeps for you Oh I know on your golden throes The world see how it weeps for you

The Cold War 03:04
Welcome to the cold war in the land of the free Can anybody tell me what is wrong with me? I’ve been running around the world and I’m incomplete. But we’ve got internet, cell phones, I don’t smile if Im alone A photograph to tell my friends what I believe when I am home And I barely remember the way it smells outside So If I don’t know where I should go And I can’t breathe from all this noise Well I’m not sure who I am anymore So it goes. Welcome to the cold war. Well your television set is a cold buzzing blue How can anybody get along with you? I’m watching an election get rigged on the evening news. But we’ve got oil leaks, candidates, preach love never hate Poverty rises as they say the unemployment rate Has recently reached an all new 10 year low oh oh uh oh! So If I don’t know where I should go And I cant breathe from all this noise Well Im not sure who I am anymore So it goes. Welcome to the cold war. So welcome to the cold war in the land of the free Where is everybody that is just like me? You see my gun is loaded now who am I supposed to be But the people think in left and right and never see what’s out of sight Im thinking about my ups and downs I need to turn my life around And why does it look like everyone’s got more than me…me me ME ME… So If I don’t know where I should go And I cant breathe from all this noise Well Im not sure who I am anymore So it goes. Welcome to the cold war.

Black Rain 02:49
Black rain Black rain wash it all away Seep into my bones. I think you’re here to stay Black rain. White horse White horse why do you follow me? Rider on the wind … Well white horse go away. I see the river rising now I think we’re gonna drown As the walls are falling down As the water turns to clear Is there anybody here? Is there anyone at all? Black night Black night Take me to my ease And if my time has come Spare me my disease Black night I see the river rising now I think we’re gonna drown As the walls are falling down As the water turns to clear Is there anybody here? Is there anyone at all?

Well I’ve been looking for a sign That everything would be just fine But I can’t keep my eyes awake What happens if I miss the day? But oh there’s one more thing… Just keep me here and hold me tonight Be my eyes if I should go blind Keep me here and hold me tonight Be my eyes if I should go blind Well I’ve been looking back for so long And I’ve been keeping tabs in song. What happens to our pasts if they’re gone? They say that “love won’t last” but they’re wrong. But oh there’s one more thing… Just keep me here and hold me tonight Be my eyes if I should go blind Keep me here and hold me tonight Be my eyes if I should go blind And I’ve been looking for “a long time coming” But I’m not here to count the days. Well I’ve been looking for a sign That everything would be just fine.

Oh my baby’s gonna go out tonight gonna go out tonight gonna go out tonight Oh my baby’s gonna go out tonight. Gonna see the lights of the town. Gonna buy my baby a diamond ring And a diamond ring and a diamond ring Gonna buy my baby a diamond ring But to here it don’t mean a thing. And I know it sounds silly when I call your name And I tell you to come back home Ain’t got no money but I’m doing the best I can… Because its love (3x) Woke up early in the afternoon In the afternoon In the afternoon Woke up early in the afternoon With a pain up in my skull. (OH NO!) Oh my god what did I do? What a deed I do? What didn’t I do? Oh my god what did I do? And where the hell am I? And I know it sounds silly when I call your name And I tell you to come back home Ain’t got no money but I’m doing the best I can… Because its love Because its love

Into the tide, I cast my dreams of making up my mind I found you there. Your breath was still, your lungs too cold to care. If time has long since passed me by Well I’d climb the rocks to reach the shore again If my light has failed you dear Don’t say a world or let them know we’re here Is it worse to live in doubt or live in fear? Cos I don’t know. We bide our time And tell ourselves that all will be redeemed In all our youth The bruise of time will turn a deeper blue And tell me where the shore recedes To calm the sea so we can live again Into the deep we call our home Cos in love and loss well we can be alone To wipe the lines from where the sun once shown Time will tell if we’re the lucky ones or we’re the ones who fell So close your eyes. There’s nothing we can change tonight.

Crimson lace Around your eyes To unwind When I don’t see I go blind In my time I don’t have any words to keep you here I see the darkness up ahead my dear But now is fine and we are on our own So I don’t mind…I feel fine Clear blue lake Take me down To see no more What I don’t know I don’t mind The losing kind I don’t have any words to keep you here I see the darkness up ahead my dear But now is fine and we are on our own And I don’t mind No I don’t mind I don’t mind No, I feel fine…

Back Home 03:50
You hold your heart next to mine Some days I wish you’d leave me far behind So I won’t be the cross you bare I knew I would but baby, it’s not fair. So if not tomorrow… Someday I’ll know my way back home Someday I’ll know my way back home Somewhere that I can be alone Someday I’ll know my way back home You met me when I was good You broke me into pieces. I knew you would So here I am, I’m torn in two Should I be real to me or good to you? But if not tomorrow… Someday I’ll know my way back home Someday I’ll know my way back home Somewhere that we can be alone Someday I’ll know my way back home

Well I left my home with nothing And I don’t know for how long I’m always searching for something. Something that don’t feel wrong Yes, some days I miss some things But not enough to keep me here Now I get the feeling I’m the town they call “nowhere” Oh but I lay it on the line Cos the dark it pulls this heart of mine So I’m leaving tomorrow Leaving for where I do not know Leaving tomorrow I don’t know where but I know its time to go. Well time is a rusted anchor The sea won’t wash away A shipwrecked fool had left here When he thought he’d something to say But good or bad the losers lose And the dogs all have their day And the anchor becomes a beacon To remind me that I can’t stay Oh but I lay it on the line Cos the dark it pulls this heart of mine So I’m leaving tomorrow Leaving for where I do not know Leaving tomorrow I don’t know where but I know its time to go. When I was a young kid My mama said to me “Son, you can be just what you like But dreams they don’t come cheap” And now I know just what she meant As the days all pass away Don’t spend your life a shipwrecked fool If you have something to say. Oh so I lay it on the line When the dark pulls this heart of mine So I’m leaving tomorrow Leaving for where I do not know Leaving tomorrow I don’t know where but I know its time to go.

How many more times do I call your name? Well the days have changed babe, but you’re still the same. How many more times do I take the blame? Well, I took your medicine and I went insane. You say your heart is not like mine Well, someday baby I’m leaving you far behind. So lie lie lie don’t cry on me Oh cos baby I won’t be there. Lie lie lie baby lie to me And tell me that you don’t care Lie lie lie don’t cry on me Oh cos baby I wont be there Lie lie lie baby lie to me… I’m not the second one to come though your door. And all you ever want babe is more more more… Once I thought I saw you babe But now I know you ain’t here anymore I thought I told you once before you better clean your room before you walk that floor. And now you got me out in your party hat Tell me babe, am I supposed to live with that? So lie lie lie don’t cry on me Oh cos baby I wont be there. Lie lie lie baby lie to me And tell me that you don’t care Lie lie lie don’t cry on me Oh cos baby I wont be there Lie lie lie baby lie to me… So lie lie lie don’t cry on me Oh cos baby I wont be there. Lie lie lie baby lie to me And tell me that you don’t care Lie lie lie don’t cry on me Oh cos baby I wont be there Lie lie lie baby lie to me… You lie lie lie lie lie lie lie lie….

It Ends 04:52
Well I’ve been through this living, like I’m born here to die. I see no sense of sympathy in any man’s eyes. But, I don’t need your ribbons to know where I’ve been. You see Ive run from the country, and I’ve been running since. But I know that someday it ends. So hold me up, when I’m going down Darling, hold me up, to live by the sound Darling, hold me up, when I’m going down Darling, hold me up, to live by the sound. So I drank of your liquor and I lived on your bread. And I walked the high road but chose the other instead. And I shouted through the canyons and I swam in the lakes. While I chalked my misgivings up to a young mans mistakes. Cos I know that someday it ends So hold me up, when I’m going down Darling, hold me up, to live by the sound Darling, hold me up, when I’m going down Darling, hold me up, to live by the sound. There’s a light on in the bowery, ‘neath a legion of shelds But it’s a soldier’s remorse for a refusal to yield See, we hold up our dead to impossible deeds Like it’s some sort of penance for being born a bad seed. But I know that someday it ends Yes I know that someday it ends. So hold me up, when I’m going down Darling, hold me up, to live by the sound Darling, hold me up, when I’m going down Darling, hold me up, to live by the sound. And if I die in the city, don’t bury me here. Return me to the willows where the river runs clear. And if I meet my maker, well I’ll tell her that I tried. See I’ve run from the country, but I’m not one to hide. Cos, I know that someday it ends Yes, I know that someday it ends.

You will come to me I know Sure as the sun burns off the snow Awash in the calm of winter’s glow Empires fall just like before And if you find a peace of mind Help me find a piece of mine Watch the seas now as they turn One, one hundered armies burn. A nation kills so as to earn The lost still can not be returned And if you find a peace of mind Help me find a piece of mine If you find a peace of mind Help me find a piece of mine

about

After a lengthy break from releasing full length albums under his name, Michael Mazochi returns with "The Cold War". The album is a look at the modern age and how it effects us as human beings. The 14 track album is a vibrant, exciting, and sometimes harrowing look at the effects of the times we live in and how we all need to find some sense of peace in the chaos that surrounds us.

"The Cold War" is mostly the work of one music obsessive who locked himself up in a small apartment and tried to make sense of the world around him. The album was made one piece at a time with nearly every instrument being played by Mazochi from drums to vocals. The presence of Maxwell Butler in a good handful of the songs provides a lift whenever and wherever he lends his talents.

"The Cold War" is Mazochi's most concise and directed album to date and one that seeks to look forward into the future while staying grounded in the past.
